DTWC Unpredictable All Around
10/19/23
Thursday morning we headed to Eldora Speedway for the much anticipated "Dirt Track World Championship" (DTWC). We landed around 11am and was able to drive right inside the gates and get the DRO Ministry car and the prayer tent unloaded.
As would be the case all weekend, the rain began to fall as we was setting up our tent and show car in Eldora's vendor area.
All of Thursday's and Fridays scheduled events was cancelled or rescheduled for Saturday morning, which would be overtop our already scheduled Chapel service time of 3pm on Saturday. That put us scrambling to come up with a new time, working with the race track and the Lucas Oil Series activities. We was able to secure a new service time of 11:30am Saturday.
Our Chapel service went very well considering the little amount of time we had to promote it. Chris Link blessed us with worship and Ralph Baker brought a powerful message as always! After the service we was able to open up the prayer tent and show car, but off and on rain plagued us the rest of the afternoon forcing most of the racing events to move to Sunday
With everything moved to an all day Sunday event, we chose to take the tent display and the show car back to our trailer and load up early Sunday morning for a quick exit after the races.
All in all, it was a good weekend. we did get some ministry time in and we got to see an exciting race. Thanks to Jerry Gappens and Eldora Speedway for blessing us with everything they did. And, thanks to the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series for allowing us to be part of their team and blessing us as well.
To God be the glory in all things!
